Stiff-Leg Barbell Deadlift

Stiff-Leg Barbell Deadlift

Stand with the barbell over your midfoot, feet hip-width, and grip it just outside your legs with your knees only slightly bent and held nearly straight throughout. Hinge at the hips, pushing your glutes back as the bar travels down close to your shins with your back flat. Lower until you feel a deep stretch in your hamstrings, typically around mid-shin. Drive your hips forward to stand tall, squeezing your glutes at the top. Unlike the Romanian deadlift, the knees stay almost locked, maximizing the hamstring stretch.
