Barbell Pin Press

Barbell Pin Press

Set the safety pins in a power rack at chest level over a flat bench and rest the loaded barbell on them. Lie down, grip the bar slightly wider than shoulder width, and press it from a dead stop straight to lockout. Lower it back to the pins, let it settle, and reset before each rep so there is no stretch reflex. Pressing from a dead stop builds raw starting strength and exposes weak points off the chest.
