Barbell Step-Up

Set a barbell across your upper back as in a back squat and stand facing a sturdy box or bench at roughly knee height. Place one full foot on the box, drive through that heel to step up and stand tall, keeping your chest up and core braced. Control the descent by lowering your trailing leg back to the floor, then repeat for the prescribed reps before switching legs. Avoid pushing off the bottom foot and let the working leg do the work.
